Corona Virus Updates
Baylor University has been taking careful measures to ensure the safety of their students, professors, and staff.
In compliance with Texas, Waco, and Baylor University's guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of the community, we have decided to host this year's CASA 5k virtually and not include a concert.
As part of the greater Waco community, we believe that it is the best option for the health and safety of our participants and our chapter, while still supporting the children of McLennan County.
The virtual 5k will be hosted the weekend of September 25th through 27th, allowing participants to complete their 5k on their own time. We believe that this is a great way to continue to support our philanthropy, as well as providing a chance to exercise in a fun way! We encourage our participants to make this fun by completing the 5k however they would like: walking, running, biking, by skateboard or rollerblades, or even swimming are a few fun ways to be creative!
By participating, you are pledging to follow the guidelines set by Texas and Baylor University, including social distancing, wearing a mask, and gathering in groups with no more than 10 people.
While we cannot host the physical 5k, we will be raising money in other ways in addition to our virtual 5k. There will be daily profit shares at local restaurants the week leading up to the race, along with the opportunity to donate online through our CrowdChange, that can be found here.
These times are certainly not easy, but we are hoping to make it fun for participants and support CASA of McLennan County the best way that we can!
